Ten years ago, The Lemons played their very first show. In the months leading up to, and leading away from, this show, they did a lot of recording, honing in on a sound of tape hiss, layered harmonies, twinkly high end, and assorted whatnots. Some of these songs were released on hand-dubbed cassette tapes, usually 5 or 10 copies each, to sell at the shows they played, usually in basements or record stores. Others were just kept for reference and posterity, were rerecorded in higher (or lower) fidelity, or reworked completely. The best tunes were compiled onto their 2016 debut long player, Hello, We're The Lemons. The rest were archived for a later date. Well, I guess that later date has arrived, because here you have it: Lemology, Vol. 1 (2012-2016).
